Privacy Policy

In short: Side B collects no data. Your songs and tapes stay on your iPhone.

Effective date: October 26, 2026

What we collect

Nothing. Side B has no accounts, makes no network connections, and contains no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting tools. We receive no information about you.

To work, the app keeps the following on your iPhone. None of it leaves the device:

songs you pick from Files: the app only remembers where they are and does not copy them;
songs from your Music library that are stored on the device: the app keeps a playable copy, plus small album-art images;
the tapes you make: name, shell colour, tracks and their A/B order;
where each tape stopped, and your settings.

Your Music library

Side B asks for access to your Music library only when you choose to import from it. It uses that access to list your songs and albums and play them on the device. It never changes your library and never uploads anything. Apple Music songs marked with a cloud are played by the iOS system player, which Apple handles under its own privacy policy.

How it is used

Only to play your tapes on your iPhone. Nothing else.

Third parties

Nothing is shared with anyone. Side B includes no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking.

Retention and deletion

Everything stays on your iPhone until you delete it. Delete a single tape in the tape box, or delete Side B to remove all tapes, the copies it keeps and your settings. We hold no copies, so there is nothing to request from us.

Withdrawing consent

You can turn off Side B's Music library access at any time in Settings › Privacy & Security › Media & Apple Music. Side B can then no longer read songs from your library; songs imported from Files are not affected.
